Planning a Puerto Vallarta Destination Wedding

Marriage Requirements

If you are looking to become legally married in Puerto Vallarta there are some steps you need to go through to make that happen. The bride and groom and their witnesses must arrive in Puerto Vallarta three working days before their wedding day and all of the below documents need to be submitted to the Civil Registry Office.

  • FMM Tourist card (These documents will be given to you by the airline and stamped by the Immigration Officer upon arrival in Mexico).
  • If the bride or groom are divorced, they will need their original birth certificates and final divorce decrees. These documents must be officially translated into Spanish and Apostilled.
  • Valid passports
  • Birth certificates with apostilles.
  • A blood test
  • The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupations, relationships, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the four witnesses.
  • Death certificate or divorce certificate from any previous spouse if either party has been married before.
