What is the main airport in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica has two main international airports that serve travelers heading to its top wedding destinations: Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José and Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia.

If your wedding is in Guanacaste, Tamarindo, Papagayo, or the northern Pacific coast, LIR is the more convenient option, with resorts typically 30 minutes to 1.5 hours away.

Once you arrive, transportation options include private shuttles, rental cars, and domestic flights to smaller regional airports. With frequent flights from major U.S. and Canadian cities, your Costa Rica wedding will be easily accessible for you and your guests, no matter which airport best suits your destination.
