The Love Story
Meeting through mutual friends at Ryerson University, Sasha and Jared started off as just friends and only seeing each other at the occasional birthday party or events. Fast forward to 2014 when Sasha was selling Raptors playoff tickets; Jared reached out, but it wasn't for the tickets — it was to get Sasha's number! After Jared being persistent, Sasha finally agreed to their first official date together, and it was filled with Latin cuisine, sangria, and batcha! On Dec. 25th 2015, Jared took Sasha on a Santa scavenger hunt, where the clues led her to him bent down on one knee in front of our closest family.
The Planning Experience
Being the beach lovers that they are, it was only right for them to have a destination wedding in a tropical beach paradise. When it came to choosing a destination, Playa De Carmen topped their list because it held a special place in their hearts as their first vacation together. They worked within their budget and chose the stunning Sandos Playacar Beach Resort as the place to say their I dos!
The Celebration
Their wedding vision was "Rustic Beach Elegance" and they made their vision come to life with a marquee tent draped with fabric, small lights and chandeliers to add a touch of elegance. Everything from the invites, bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres, centerpieces, champagne flutes, cake topper and music reflected their style and was exactly what they wanted.
The Memories
Sasha and Jared had some time to slip away to enjoy some time together during the reception and got to witness all of our guests enjoying themselves at the tent set-up on the beach. It even attracted some of the people staying on the resort; they wanted to come celebrate with them! Sasha and Jared described their wedding day as the "best day ever", and it's a moment they will cherish forever.
Advice For Future Couples
Their advice to anyone wanting a destination wedding is to Start planning early and get all of your ideas and important elements down on paper. We were able to stay to our budget with 80 guests and still have all the wedding elements we wanted.
