The Love Story
Like all great love stories, it seems as though Sarah and Shylah's was meant to be. The couple first connected when Sarah decided she was going to the Arctic for three months. A friend suggested she get in touch with Shylah, who had already been living there for some time. Once the two spoke, there was an instant connection. They knew right away that they were going to be each other's forever.
The Planning Experience
Shylah wanted a destination wedding from the start and was able to convince Sarah of all the benefits. By working closely with their Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, they were able to find the perfect resort that met all of their needs, the most important being a place that was safe and would celebrate their love with them. Once the pair saw photos of the ecological Hotel Xcaret and its gorgeous details, they were sold.
The Celebration
Sarah & Shylah's ceremony by the water was very personal, filled with romantic lighting, pale pink flowers, and fun details like wooden wedding signs with their special hashtag. Their vows were followed by a reception held in a cave, which provided a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone!
The Memories
The couple had a huge "wow" moment when midway through their first dance, three-meter sparklers went off on the edge of the dancefloor, creating the most amazing atmosphere (plus it looked great in photos!). Sarah and Shylah loved their destination wedding so much it was hard for them to sum up the experience in a few words. They thought it was the best day, even the best week, spent with their guests. Not only was the location incredible, but the service was just as amazing. The two couldn't stop smiling the entire time. They're also excited to visit Hotel Xcaret for their one-year anniversary and really immerse themselves in everything the resort has to offer now that they'll have more time to enjoy it.
Advice For Future Couples
For other destination wedding couples, Sarah and Shylah's greatest advice is just to enjoy every moment. It goes by incredibly fast. They also recommend letting the photos come naturally instead of taking time away from the party.
