The Love Story
Riley and Evan had known each other through family and friends for years, but everything changed in February 2021 when they finally started dating. Riley had always had a soft spot for Evan and still jokes that she waited years for him to catch on! After three amazing years together, Evan popped the question at the beautiful Barcelo Maya resort in Mexico, and the rest is history.
The Planning Experience
After getting engaged in Mexico, a destination wedding was an obvious choice. They set their sights on Iberostar Paraiso Maya and immediately knew it was the perfect place to say their I dos.
The Celebration
Their wedding was picture perfect with lush floral arrangements around the gazebo, while sounds of a violin played in the background. During cocktail hour, they added an extra hour for guests to mingle, enjoy hors d'oeuvres, and soak in the lively sounds of a live mariachi band. The reception was pure magic with white papel picado flags and string lights, colorful maracas at each place setting from a local vendor, and a light-up dance floor that kept everyone moving all night. Cold fireworks lit up their first dance and our DJ and emcee kept the energy high. To top it all off, they ordered the most delicious and beautiful cake from Lali Pastele's bakery in Cancun.
The Memories
To sum up their destination wedding in paradise, they describe it as "incredible, memorable and emotional." One of the highlights of their celebration was their closest loved ones reading out their speeches. Both the Best Man and Maid of Honor wrote such heartfelt speeches for both the bride and groom and it was something they are going to remember forever. The best surprise was Evan's oldest brother giving a speech of his own. As the man that helped raise Evan, hearing his words was an emotional and beautiful moment no one will ever forget. The couple also loved their pre-wedding festivities, kicking off the celebration with a white party attended by all their loved ones. The groom gives a special shoutout to his karaoke crew for keeping the party going all night long!
