The Love Story
Nine years ago, McKenzie and Jojo met online and never looked back. After seven years, they welcomed their first son together, and soon enough, Jojo was getting down on one knee in front of her and all three of their kiddos to pop the question. As a holiday tradition every year, Jojo asked McKenzie to spend forever with him at the Christmas tree farm. Once they found the perfect tree to bring home, "he got down on one knee and told me I was the perfect one. It was everything," recalls McKenzie.
The Planning Experience
They always dreamed of having a destination wedding because of their love for travel, and their dreams soon became a reality when they discovered Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa. They fell in love with the beautiful private terrace, stunning views, and how affordable it was for them and their guests. The idea of celebrating with all of their closest loved ones made them even more excited to say I do in paradise.
The Celebration
Once their wedding day arrived, they sprinkled in personal touches, including an upgraded white pillar at the altar, gorgeous centerpieces, charming bistro lights, and sparkling fireworks. They also brought a few items from home, like table numbers, photos, and a cake topper. What really stole the show was the sand ceremony with their three children, which beautifully symbolized the blending of their family. Once they said I do, dinner was served, but not without a little humor on the side. McKenzie's little sister carried a tray of 15+ shots and managed to drop every single one while the videographer was recording, sending the entire room into laughter.
The Memories
To sum up their destination wedding in Mexico, they described it as "perfect, heartfelt, breathtaking." Their favorite part of the trip was spending time with all of their closest loved ones. The day after their celebration, a group of 48 went on a private catamaran to Isla Mujeres, making it the perfect way to continue celebrating their love in paradise.
