The Love Story
It all started with a birthday party, a surprise guest, and a bouquet of roses. Raul worked with Mariana's dad, and one day, her dad invited him over for her mom's birthday. A month later, Raul showed up at her door with flowers, and their love story quickly began to blossom. Mariana reached out to thank him for the flowers, and they discovered how similar they were— from their goals and dreams to what they wanted out of life. On March 19, 2023, in the Dominican Republic, Raul took romance to new heights. He surprised her with a helicopter ride, and as they soared over the beach, she saw her name written in the sand in red ribbon: "Mariana, will you marry me?" When they landed, the sand was covered in rose petals, and Raul was waiting in a vintage car. It was truly magical.

The Planning Experience
In 2018, Mariana visited Tulum and fell in love with the lush green jungles and bright turquoise waters. She immediately thought it would be the perfect place to get married. When she brought it up to Raul during their wedding planning, he was all in.

The Celebration
Mariana and Raul went all out for their special day! Their Catholic ceremony was beautiful, and for the reception, Mariana wore a stunning custom-made veil created by her dear friend. Along with the gorgeous veil, they added a lively mariachi band, a saxophonist, and even water light drums that lit up the night. The decor featured dreamy baby blue and white florals, a sparkling golden dance floor, and palm trees with sparkling lights. The newlyweds danced the night away with all of their guests and wrapped up the celebration with the most magical last dance under a sky filled with fireworks.

The Memories
They loved their celebration so much that they described it as "beautiful, elegant, romantic, loving, and unique." One of their favorite moments, besides the wedding itself, was the welcoming party with all their guests. They mingled, devoured delicious tacos, and got to enjoy Tulum right before they said their "I dos."

Advice For Future Couples
Mariana and Raul's advice for planning a destination wedding?

"Make sure to schedule your hair and makeup super early because they take a long time and don't attend to you right when you arrive."
