The Love Story
What started as a beautiful friendship quickly turned into something so much more for Lyneisha & Maurice! From day one, there was this instant comfort between them like they'd known each other forever. They laughed a lot, shared the same values, leaned on their faith, and loved their families hard. It didn't take long to realize that they weren't just a great match—they were meant to be. Then on July 16th, 2023, Maurice surprised Lyneisha and planned the most unforgettable proposal at Dumbo Park in Brooklyn.
The Planning Experience
The idea of having a destination wedding was always on their hearts, and they spoke about how gorgeous and amazing it would be to say I do somewhere surrounded by sunshine, palm trees, and their closest loved ones. The idea grew on them, and soon enough it felt like it was the only way to start their forever love story. They loved the idea of having their wedding be a shared vacation experience with all of their loved ones. It just felt right!
They first envisioned their special day in Jamaica, but after some thought, they decided they needed a location that checked every box—not just for them but for their guests as well. With the help of their Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, Melinda Shelly, she pointed them in the right direction and recommended Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana. The moment they saw it, they knew it was the one. It had the perfect energy and a stunning tropical backdrop, everything they had imagined and more.
The Celebration
To make their celebration uniquely theirs, they kept the classic ceremony chairs but added their own custom touches around them to really make the setup feel more like them. For the reception, they hired a DJ who totally nailed their personal playlist, so the whole night felt like one big dance party made just for them. One of their most special moments was seeing Maurice's face as Lyneisha walked down the aisle. His face beamed with emotion, from love and excitement to tears of joy. It felt like the whole world stopped and it was just the two of them. "I'll never forget the way he looked at me—it was everything," recalls Lyneisha.
The Memories
Lyneisha and Maurice sum up their destination wedding as "intimate, emotional, unforgettable." Every second of their celebration was incredible, but they will never forget the moments they spent with their loved ones. It wasn't just a wedding, but a full vacation experience filled with so much love and laughter. It wasn't just a wedding. It was an entire vacation full of love, laughter, poolside fun, and quality time with the people who supported their love the most. That made it all the more meaningful.

Lyneisha and Maurice's advice for planning a destination wedding?
"It's easy to get overwhelmed with details, but remember that what truly matters is the love you're celebrating and the memories you're creating. And most importantly, be present. Soak in every single moment because it goes by faster than you think, but the love and joy you feel will stay with you forever."
