The Love Story
Kalee and Andrew crossed the same campus paths, shared plenty of mutual friends, and probably passed each other a million times, but never officially met until an end-of-the-school-year trip to Myrtle Beach. They spent the whole trip together, and once they returned to college, they became inseparable. They officially became a couple during their junior year, continued dating through senior year, and moved in together right after graduation. After five incredible years together, Andrew popped the question in front of all their loved ones at a family picnic. How romantic!

The Planning Experience
Once Kalee and Andrew got engaged, the wedding planning began! After touring a few local venues, nothing really stood out. Then they visited a resort in Punta Cana and completely fell in love with a venue there, so they figured it was worth exploring what a destination wedding had to offer. What made it even better was that their loved ones were all for it. Dreams Macao Beach really caught their eye with its multiple pools, clean beach, great restaurants, and family-friendly vibes. The wedding packages were also stunning, which made the planning process much easier.

The Celebration
They chose the Beyond Memorial wedding package and added a lively DJ and a talented photographer. One of their favorite additions was the photo booth, which all their guests absolutely loved and made the most of. To make the day even more meaningful, they included personal touches like their own welcome table items and a chair to honor Kalee's late mother. Their on-site coordinator helped bring everything to life and was very supportive of their ideas.

While they loved every part of their wedding in paradise, two moments stood out the most, their first dance and a surprise rainstorm. Out of nowhere, the skies opened up and it poured, but thankfully, it only lasted about three minutes. They do say rain on your wedding day brings good luck! The staff handled everything perfectly, quickly guiding guests to a covered area, moving the cake to safety, and replacing all the food in no time.

The Memories
Kalee and Andrew described their destination wedding as "beautiful, easy, and wholesome." From the sudden rain to discovering their dream venue, they soaked in every special moment. What made it even more memorable was being able to spend quality time with friends and family all around the resort. Turning their wedding into a mini-vacation gave them the chance to enjoy evenings at the main bar, relaxing days by the pool and beach, and even a group snorkeling trip with 30 of their guests.

Advice For Future Couples
Kalee & Andrew's advice for having a destination wedding?

"If you don't have a location back home in mind, do a destination wedding. It's so worth it. You will see who truly cares to be there. Also, everyone deserves a vacation!"
