The Love Story
Jenny and Maurizio's connection began in the summer of 2009, but their paths crossed years earlier during high school. Despite being in the same class for two years, they never spoke to each other until much later. It wasn't until spending time at a mutual friend's house that they had their first conversation, and they've been inseparable ever since! During an anniversary trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mauritzo surprised Jenny with a romantic candlelight dinner overlooking the sunset and asked her to marry him! "It was a magical memory I will always keep with me," recalls Jenny.
The Planning Experience
Since both of their families were scattered across the US and different counties, the idea of having a tropical destination wedding was the best fit for them and their families. Being in the travel industry, these lovebirds stayed at Inclusive Collection, Part of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts plenty of times and fell in love with one of their resorts, Dreams Playa Mujeres, where they chose to officially tie the knot!
The Celebration
Jenny and Maurizio wanted to customize their special day in paradise by adding something each of them loved. They added a personal touch to their welcome cocktail hour, featuring a cigar bar inspired by Maurizio and a delightful margarita station inspired by Jenny! For their reception, they envisioned decor that you don't normally see at most weddings and went for glowing fairy lights instead of string lights, making the whole atmosphere magical. Something neither of them will ever forget was doing a very private and intimate first look, with no one but their photographers/videographers around. "It was beautiful to see each other before the ceremony," remembers Jenny.
The Memories
To sum up their destination wedding in paradise, they describe it as "elegant, intimate, and so much love." They enjoyed every second of their special celebration in Mexico and spent time reminiscing on their beautiful moments like spending time with their loved ones, lounging by the pool, and dancing the night away at the disco, during their lavish honeymoon in Italy.
Advice For Future Couples
Jenny and Maurizio's advice for couples planning a destination wedding is to decide on the planning of your wedding and what you both like as a couple. You will hear a lot of opinions, but at the end of the day, you both make the decision on how you want to plan your wedding! It's not worth any stress, and enjoy every moment!
