The Love Story
Jacquie & Luke have built a life full of adventure since making it official in September 2019. From moving in together and buying a house, to surviving a pandemic and jet-setting around the world, each year brought something new and exciting to their relationship. They even added their sweet dog, Frannie, to the mix! After four amazing years together, Luke proposed during a family vacation to Kauai, Hawaii. Before he got down on one knee, he snuck away and asked Jacquie's family for their blessing and they couldn't have been happier. Then, on that dreamy island, he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me and be my forever?" It's a moment Jacquie will replay in her head for the rest of her life.
The Planning Experience
A destination wedding was always part of their plan! While they didn't have one specific reason for choosing their resort, they did their research, compared five or six options, and ultimately decided on Secrets Playa Blanca.
The Celebration
Their wedding package had everything they needed for their special day, so they didn't bring much from home. Jacquie made fun vacation gift bags for guests, filled with pool floats, sunscreen, and sunglasses. To make their wedding even dreamier, they upgraded the decor with floral arrangements on their beach gazebo, lush centerpieces for the tables, and extra time with the photographer to capture every moment. Jacquie and Luke enjoyed every second of their special day, but Jacquie will never forget walking down the aisle and seeing Luke standing there waiting for her. "Hands down, one of the best moments of my life," recalls Jacquie.
The Memories
When asked to describe their destination wedding, Jacquie and Luke said, "It was perfect." Being surrounded by loved ones and spending quality time at the social pool and beach made the experience even more special. After saying their I dos, they took the party to Isla Mujeres with all their guests who were still in town. They hopped on a catamaran with an open bar and lunch, went snorkeling, swam in the bluest, warmest water, and spent time wandering the island. It was the perfect way to end their celebration!

"Definitely plan through DestinationWeddings.com. I honestly thought I would be so much more stressed with the planning, but with the help of our Destination Wedding Specialist, Sue, and our coordinator Fernanda at the resort, I barely had to do anything. It was so unbelievably helpful to discuss exactly what we wanted, what our choices on decor were, and then not have to worry because they executed it so well."
