The Love Story
Hannah and Robert are highschool sweethearts that first fell in love at their local middle school football field. Robert was a star football player and Hannah did gymnastics, so they easily clicked over their shared love for the excitement and competition that sports bring. After their first meeting, they never lost touch, and five years later, Robert got down on one knee and proposed!
The Planning Experience
Their plan was always to have a hometown wedding, but after seeing the prices and the quality of options available locally, they quickly changed their minds. While scrolling through social media, they came across an advertisement from DestinationWeddings.com, filled out the contact form, and the wedding planning began with their incredible Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, Maggie Elles. They discovered their dream venue at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana and were thrilled with the atmosphere and amenities, including the adults-only section, affordability, and the perfect mix of activities for all ages to enjoy.
The Celebration
They added their own magical touch to the decor for their special day, including sparkling floating lanterns, tropical palm leaves, seashells, and a burlap runner. Additionally, they brought bubbles for everyone to blow during their grand entrance and sparklers for their exit. One of their favorite moments was jumping into the pool at the reception. After dancing the night away, everyone was hot and needed a way to cool off, so before long, the whole group was splashing around in the pool.
The Memories
To sum up their destination wedding in paradise, they describe it as "magical, fun, and cheap." They loved their celebration so much they plan on traveling back to Majestic Elegance Punta Cana for their one year anniversary. "It was beautiful and sentimental for us and our loved ones," recalls Hannah.
Advice For Future Couples
Hannah and Robert's biggest piece of advice for planning a destination wedding is to trust the process! There were many times where I was anxious or worried about planning everything online and internationally, but honestly it turned out so well and exactly what I wanted!
Also, don't listen to others about their opinions of a destination wedding!
