The Love Story
Edwige was on a relaxing getaway to Mexico, escaping the Canadian chill when she crossed paths with Andre. Funny enough, Andre had no clue he was headed to Mexico until he showed up at the airport for his annual sibling trip! One rainy afternoon, he and his siblings ducked under Edwige's private cabana to stay dry. His siblings struck up a conversation with her, but at first, Edwige and Andre barely noticed each other. Later that night, they had a conversation about religion and instantly clicked. They spent the rest of their trip dancing, talking by the pool until 1am and walking on the beach together. Soon enough, they were visiting each other across the US and Canada falling more and more in love. On a cold winter night, Andre popped the question and the rest is history!

The Planning Experience
Both Edwige and Andre knew they wanted a wedding that would be special and intimate, but due to their large families, their guest count would easily exceed 200. A destination wedding was the easiest way to achieve what they wanted while keeping the guest list for their celebration on the smaller side. Since they first met in Cancun, choosing it as the location for their dream wedding was an easy decision. Royalton Riviera Cancun checked all of their boxes, from the prime airport location to the amenities for guests of all ages.

The Celebration
To elevate their day in paradise, they upgraded their wedding packages to cover delicious meals for their guests, and they got to enjoy a private cocktail hour and lively reception. The DJ and MC kept things lively after they said their I dos, and at the end of the last song of the night, a surprise firework show lit up the sky. They decided to skip the first look, so the first time they saw each other was as Edwige walked down the aisle. It was beyond special, and after the initial shock wore off, they couldn't help but burst out laughing.

The Memories
Since Edwige and Andre's room had a rooftop with a pool and lounge, they decided to invite all their loved ones for a mini celebration to catch up over drinks. Their favorite moment was watching their families laugh and mingle, filled with joy at the fact that they had found each other.

Advice For Future Couples
Edwige and Andre's advice for couples is to just breathe. The day will be a blur, but you need to find a few moments throughout the day to soak in the experience. It's easier to do that if you do your research and have a document that tracks EVERYTHING. Even if you despise spreadsheets, finding a template that breaks down your guest list, wedding expenses, vendor info, wedding schedule, etc., is a lifesaver. Being able to see all of your due dates and expenses in one place will help keep you within budget (or as close as possible). Sometimes, it may be worth it to upgrade for a small fee to save yourself a couple of thousand in the long run.
