The Love Story
A classic and charming love story between fraternities and sororities! Dana and Steven met on Facebook and began chatting online. At the time, Steven was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Dana was a Sigma Dove, so they decided to meet up at a probate show at Dana's university. Once they officially met, they hit it off immediately and continued to keep in touch. They started dating in December 2006 and fast forward 10 years later and they are still so in love!
The Planning Experience
While they were both a little hesitant about having a destination wedding, it surpassed their expectations and everything was how they envisioned it. Dana recalls, "there was not one flaw on our wedding day. It was truly the best decision we could have made." With the help of their Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, Daniel Onley, they went with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. They heard so many great things about Hard Rock, but what really sealed the deal was the free 2 hour events and complimentary upgrades and nights they happy couple received.
The Celebration
They incorporated plenty of personal touches to their big day to make it special to them. From the designed shirts and tank tops for their wedding party to choosing personal songs for their first dances, every detail reflected their unique personalities! For the guests that couldn't attend, they live streamed their wedding, so their loved one could feel like they were part of their special day even if they couldn't make it. The night before the wedding, Dana and Steven shut a restaurant down! They had all of the servers dancing and singing with their entire wedding party. The servers commented that they have never seen any group have so much fun and show so much love to them. It was a highlight from their celebration in paradise.
The Memories
During the day's long celebration, Dana and Steven shared the love with all the other brides and grooms getting married on-site. They took their whole wedding party and walked into 2 other wedding receptions that were in the same area and partied the night away together. Everyone welcomed them with open arms. For their one year anniversary, they would love to go to Fiji, but they definitely want to return to Punta Cana to make more memories together.
Advice For Future Couples
Dana and Steven's advice is to just breathe and don't stress the small stuff. The amazing Certified Destination Wedding Specialists are experts with years of experience in the wedding planning industry. Trust in your vision and trust that they will see it through! Lastly, live in the moment. We took time throughout each day to just stop and soak it in. Every 30 minutes or so, we would stop and just watch our guests enjoy themselves. We wanted to remember every detail, every smile, every moment and we were able to because we soaked in every moment.
