The Love Story
One morning in NYC, Shaquille whisked Cindy away for a day full of adventures and surprises around the city. They started with a delicious breakfast at a diner they both loved in Manhattan, followed by breathtaking views from The Edge rooftop.. "The views from there are amazing, you could see the whole city from there. It felt like you were flying," recalls Cindy. As the date kept going, Cindy had a feeling that maybe Shaquille was going to propose, but it hadn't happened yet, until they reached Central Park. Just as Cindy was looking at the pond in front of her, she turned around and there was Shaquille, down on one knee, asking her to spend forever with him.
The Planning Experience
The idea of a destination wedding didn't cross their minds at first, but they knew they wanted a beach wedding for the gorgeous photos. Once the idea came up, they realized it was the perfect way to say their "I dos" and bring all their favorite people together at an all-inclusive resort.
The Celebration
Since Cindy's family is from the Dominican Republic, they thought it would be the perfect location for their celebration. From the stunning views, kind people, to the fun culture, they love everything about the Dominican Republic. Once they laid their eyes on Majestic Mirage, it immediately stood out to them. Cindy had been there once before and she knew how delicious the food was and loved how romantic and warm the resort felt, plus the staff was incredibly welcoming. When it came to décor, everyone pitched in to make their vision come to life. Their families put on their DIY caps and created beautiful decorations for the big day. They even chose mirror seating, which perfectly matched their vibe and helped minimize what they had to pack. The real showstopper, though, was their first dance. The DJ and MC timed everything perfectly, from the music to the sparklers, making the moment truly unforgettable for Cindy and Shaquille.
The Memories
Cindy and Shaquille describe their wedding as "grateful, accommodating and fulfilling." One of their favorite parts of the celebration was planning little activities with their loved ones, from their all-white meet and greet night to a fun-filled beach day. They cherished every moment of having everyone come together to celebrate their love story.
