The Love Story
Chrissy and Mike met unexpectedly in April 2016 in NE Philadelphia, and from that moment, sparks flew! The connection was instant and soon enough they were laughing at the same jokes and looking forward to spending more time together. Their shared love for traveling, cheering on Philly sports teams, attending concerts, skiing, and enjoying fun times down the shore made every moment together an adventure. In July 2019, they welcomed their first child together and before they knew it, Mike was getting down on one knee and popping the question above the clouds at Haleakala National Park in Maui.
The Planning Experience
After attending a few destination weddings themselves, Chrissy and Mike loved the idea of having their close friends and family celebrate their love in a beautiful destination. They looked at plenty of options for their dream venue but decided on Dreams Royal Beach in Punta Cana because of the stunning swim-up rooms and the fact that it was a smaller resort.
The Celebration
To showcase their personalities, they added unique centerpieces and a seating chart that incorporated their love for National Parks. They even entered their wedding with a bang by dancing to the iconic Jack Rabbit Slim's scene from Pulp Fiction! Everything, from the ceremony to the reception, was everything they ever envisioned and more. "My only complaint is how fast it all went!" Chrissy and Mike recall. One of their favorite parts of their celebration was the snorkeling adventures they did with some of their guests, along with the relaxing couples massages at the spa.
The Memories
They sum up their destination wedding celebration by saying it was "perfect, beautiful, and fun." From the grand entrance to all their loved ones showing off their best dance moves at the reception, they created memories that will last a lifetime.
Advice For Future Couples
Chrissy and Mike's advice for couples planning a destination wedding is don't stress, relax, and have fun with the planning. They were so accommodating to us and what our vision was!
