The Love Story
Thanks to Cassie's college roommate, Justice and Cassie's love story began! Even though they started as just friends in their first year of college, they always had crushes on each other. After their first year, they finally made it official. Through Cassie's grad school years and three years of long distance, their love stood the test of time. Now, nearly 10 years later, they've built a life together in California with their adorable pup, Charles. Justice made it a proposal to remember by popping the question in Lake Tahoe, with Charles all dressed up in a suit!
The Planning Experience
After attending Cassie's cousin's wedding in Cancun, they knew a destination wedding was the way to go. "I always felt it was the best way to spend the most time with our closest people while also making it a great experience for everyone," Cassie shares. Since they had already fallen in love with Cancun's beautiful beaches and perfect climate, it was the ideal place to say "I do!" The Celebration
To make their wedding truly special, they upgraded their package with a personalized arch, lush flowers, cross-back chairs, and sparkling lights for a magical touch. They also added custom coasters/tiles as place settings, table numbers, and runners for a personal flair.Of course, their beloved pup Charles had to be part of the celebration too! He made a surprise appearance on custom can coolers featuring his face and they also provided hand fans to keep guests cool. The best part of their celebration was sharing their personally written vows to one another in front of all their loved ones. It was such an emotional moment for them, and made their day even more unforgettable.
The Memories
To sum up their destination wedding experience, they describe it as "intimate, special, and unforgettable." One of their favorite memories was spending quality time with all their loved ones. Since they don't get to see everyone often, having all their favorite people together to celebrate was beyond special.
Advice For Future Couples
Cassie & Justice's biggest advice for future destination wedding couples?
"You may have doubts about having a destination wedding. You might worry about the strain on your guests, the limited control from far away, or other concerns. I had those same thoughts, but now that it's all behind me, I can confidently say it was by far the best way to celebrate our wedding. The people who truly want to be there will make the effort. We had the absolute best time spending a full week with our closest people!"
