The Love Story
Caitlin and Zach's families played matchmaker and introduced them back in 2022. Sparks flew instantly on their first date, and by the third, they knew they were falling in love. Before Caitlin knew it, Zach was on one knee, asking her to spend forever with him during a Christmas trip to St. Thomas. They couldn't wait to start their happily ever after!
The Planning Experience
These lovebirds didn't always envision destination weddings, but after realizing that most of their guests would need to travel to their hometown wedding, they decided that a destination wedding would be the best way to celebrate their love story. After researching resorts in Cancun, they fell in love with Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa because of the size of the resort and the stunning staircase wedding venue.
The Celebration
To create a soft and romantic vibe, they draped the staircase in white and adorned the aisle with lavish flowers. After exchanging vows, they made the ceremony even more special by including a sand ceremony with Zach's two daughters. Zach's dad also played a significant role as the officiant.. For the reception, they upgraded their package to include sparkling fairy lights and a lively DJ who had everyone dancing the night away. Caitlin and Zach will always cherish their first kiss as husband and wife and the moment they first saw each other as Caitlin walked down the aisle. "The whole day was memorable and absolutely perfect!" they both recalled.
The Memories
One of their favorite moments during their celebration was renting a private catamaran with all their loved ones after their big day. It was the perfect way to unwind and soak up some fun with family and friends. They snorkeled with vibrant fish, watched the sunset, and lounged on the water all day. To sum up their destination wedding experience, they describe it as "unforgettable, romantic, and perfection." They couldn't have imagined their wedding celebration any other way!
Advice For Future Couples
Caitlin & Zach's advice to couples planning a destination wedding is to trust the process and find a travel agent you connect with! Our destination weddings planner, Amy, was fabulous and helped us so much throughout the entire planning process. She made us feel at
ease and we couldn't have done it without her! Having a destination wedding was one of the best decisions we've made, and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
