The Love Story
Meeting through mutual friends, Amanda and Keith fell in love! Eight years later, they bought a house, got engaged during their 9th year, and have now been together for more than 10 years with their adorable rescued pup, Rosco.
The Planning Experience
From getting engaged on the beach to wanting something more memorable for their special day, they knew that having a destination wedding would be the best option for them. They wanted as many family and friends to celebrate their love and Sandos Cancun fit perfectly in their budget. It also helped that the wedding packages were reasonably priced and there were plenty of positive reviews.
The Celebration
Less is more when it comes to decorating their special day! The breathtaking ocean views from the rooftop made a perfect backdrop for the ceremony and reception, so they felt like they didn't need the extras. Everyone wanted to celebrate their special day, even the resort guests! At one point during the reception, all the guests were showing off their best moves on the dance floor and they noticed a woman dancing and waving down at them. All their loved ones threw their hands up in the air and started cheering her on.
The Memories
One of their favorite memories was the sun setting perfectly during their first dance! Even though there was a delay in the sunset, causing it to be extremely hot during their ceremony, everything fell into place perfectly. To sum up their destination wedding experience, they described it as "unforgettable, fun and flawless."
Advice For Future Couples
Their biggest advice for couples planning a destination wedding is to put yourselves first! At the end of it all, the day is for you. You cannot please everybody. Everyone you invite may not be able to make it. People may complain that you're selfish for having a destination wedding, but if a destination wedding is truly what YOU want, you will NOT be disappointed. The wedding coordinators (both from destinationweddings.com & the resort) do EVERYTHING in their power to make sure your day turns out exactly as you want it to. It will be difficult at first planning your wedding via emails/Pinterest/telephone calls, but it all comes together once you arrive at the resort. The guests that are able to make it will not be disappointed and at the end of the night, we promise you'll say "we're so glad we did this!"
