Weddings in Nassau, Bahamas are truly extravagant with the Bahamian capital city offering an exciting nightlife, attractive harbor and an array of colonial, old world and modern day architecture that are BREATHTAKING.
Formerly known as Charles Town, the city of Nassau was destroyed by the Spanish in 1684. The township was then later rebuilt and named Nassau in 1695 in honor of English King William III who was from the Dutch House of Orange-Nassau.
The city is famous for its involvement in three James Bond films and novels, including Thunderball in 1965; Never Say Never Again in 1963; and Casino Royale in 2006. During two of these films, the Junkanoo Celebration, which is a magnificent, traditional display of culture with music, rhythmic dance and colorful costumes, was featured in several scenes.
The region was also said to be once the haunt of legendary pirate, Blackbeard, due to its sheltered harbor that offered a safe haven for his vessel.
Today, stunning Victorian mansions, cathedrals and ancient forts offer any Nassau wedding couple wishing to marry numerous locations and many attractions to then visit while honeymooning. The most spectacular architectural find is said to be the Queen’s Staircase whose 66 steps lead to a simply breathtaking view that you nor your loved one cannot afford to miss. Weddings in Bahamas can be romantic and flamboyant -- the choice is entirely yours.

Documents Needed for TravelA valid U.S. passport is required for entry.
In most cases the passport must be valid for 6 months after the date of travel.
What to know about special expiration rules Some countries require that your U.S. passport be valid not only for the duration of your visit, but also for three to six months after your entry or return from their country.
This means you have to check your passport expiration date carefully. For example, if your passport expires on March 1, 2011, and you want to travel in November 2010, you may need to renew your passport before you go.
LanguageEnglish is the official language of the Bahamas.
BeachesMiles of beautiful beaches range along the Grand Bahama Island's southern coast. Some are secluded and seldom visited; others such as those in Lucaya, are popular year round. The main beach on Nassau is Cable Beach and is the reason the major resorts were built. The long broad sands of Cable Beach are "where the action is" on the island.
ClimateTemperatures throughout the year range between 68 and 86 degrees.
CurrencyThe official currency is the Bahamian Dollar, although US currency is widely accepted, as well as major credit cards.
