Kaanapali Beach Hotel

The most common definition for "Kaanapali" is rolling hills, as it is set between the foothills of the 5,000 foot West Maui Mountains (Kahalawai, in Hawaiian), and the golden sands of one of the world’s best beaches. Kaanapali Beach is approximately three miles long, and is divided by a lava cliff, known commonly as "Black Rock" and by the Hawaiians as Puu Kekaa. Each evening at sunset, there is ceremonial torch lighting and cliff diving at Black Rock, as sunny days give way to starry nights, this tradition enthralls our visitors and has become a resort signature. Kaanapali Beach Hotel was created to be the moderately priced first class hotel that it is today. Located just 3 miles north of Lahaina town, one of Maui's top visitor attractions. The hotel consists of three, 6-story buildings and one 3-story building on eleven ocean front acres. We are in the heart of the Kaanapali Resort, conveniently located between Black Rock and the Whaler's Village Shopping Center & Museum. With the Kaanapali Golf Courses adjacent, this central location is perfect for a vacation on Maui!

Beaches

Maui beach locations are amongst the most popular in Hawaii and are noted for their excellent swimming and convenient resort settings, particularly along the sunny west coast resort areas of Kihei and north of Lahaina where long stretches of sand make for excellent strolling.

Climate

Overall, summer temperatures between May and October are warmer, peaking in August, and drier than the winter months. February and March are the coolest months when night temperatures on the coast fall to 15C.

Currency

All Credit Cards are widely accepted throughout Hawaii and although US$ travellers cheques are recommended for both convenience and security, it is entirely feasible to travel around with your credit card only (make sure your limit is adequate for your needs).

Marriage Requirements

For a Hawaii wedding, you need a valid state license obtainable from either the Marriage License Office in Honolulu or through an agent on the other islands (ask your hotel for assistance). Licenses cost US$65 and are valid for 30 days.

Please Remember:

Destination weddings take considerable planning and research, and the best properties & accommodations often book far in advance of the wedding date. The earlier you begin planning your wedding, the greater the likelihood you will be able to book the perfect property for you and your guests.
