Spanish is the official language of Costa Rica, but English is widely spoken and understood at resorts and popular tourist areas.

The official currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican Colon (CRC). However, the US dollar is unofficially accepted throughout the main tourist areas, including resorts and popular excursion activities.

Tipping is not required or expected at an all-inclusive resort. Tipping is appreciated for tour guides and ground transportation staff.

Many couples choose to get married in Costa Rica during the shoulder months (May and November) because it’s cheaper and quieter, but also not during peak hurricane season.
