Hello,
We just returned home from our dream wedding at Excellence Riviera Cancun in Mexico. Our dedicated Certified Destination Wedding Specialist was Karin P. My colleague had a destination wedding and worked with Karin and my colleague is the one who referred us to her. At first we weren't sure if we could pull off having a destination wedding with all the travel logistics but now that it's over it was the best decision we could have made. From the beginning we were presented with all of our options and Karin was the one who communicated with the hotel about rooms, upgrades, etc. The online blog and save the date on DestinationWeddings.com were the best tools since we planned our wedding in less than a year. We were able to have all our information in a centralized location and were able to communicate with our guests through DestinationWeddings.com. All of our guests were in close contact with Karin and she was really helpful with all of their needs and concerns. I emailed the onsite wedding coordinator before the wedding to make some decisions regarding the ceremony and reception and then met with her when we got to the resort for about half an hour. Everything went perfectly and all of our guests really enjoyed themselves. Since it was all-inclusive, no one had to ever carry around money and we could have dinner or drinks with any or all of our guests whenever we wanted without having to worry who would pay for dinner or get the next round. I would absolutely suggest having a destination wedding over a traditional wedding.
Best regards, Lori and Mark H.

Jessica and Vinny - April 28, 2012

Greetings from New York! Vinny and I (Jessica) were recently married on April 28th, 2012. Vinny and I had discussed our common interest in destination weddings on our first date, three years ago, when he had mentioned that he was a groomsman in his friend's destination wedding. When Vinny asked me to marry him, there was no question that we would be getting married on a beach. We needed a bit of guidance to narrow down our options, and that is where Robert and Midge came into play.
We saw an ad for Robert and Midge's destination wedding agency in The Knot Wedding Magazine and thought we'd take a chance! To this day, we both agree that it was a great move. After Midge emailed us a handful of 4 and 5 star destination wedding resort sites, we immediately finalized our decision. We heard wonderful things about El Dorado Royale Spa Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We had friends who had honeymooned there and highly recommended it. I had never been to Mexico before, so I had the same naive concerns that I'm sure many other people who have not traveled there have including the drinking water and the general safety of the area. Midge assured me that we would be well taken care of and that the resort has a filtration system that would allow us to drink fresh, clean water every day. My guest and I drank the water every day, for 8 days, and nobody ever had one issue.
As soon as Vinny and I landed in Cancun, we were greeted with a smiling face from Lomas Travels. This gentleman took us to a private marked car with a Lomas driver who drove us a short 25 minutes to our resort. This resort is five star and adult only, with absolutely amazing food. Vinny and I ate at a different restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday. Our absolutely favorite places included La Isla and Fuentes. Occasionally we did room service, too, which they offer 24/7. The food always arrived fresh and on time. We also really appreciated the fact that the food at some restaurants came in smaller portions, especially at D'Italia, Kampai and El Cocotal. So, although the resort was all inclusive aka all you can eat, you were able to watch your waist line. I even lost two pounds when I was there from all the walking we did all day, everyday, paired with eating light. I had a goal in mind to fit into my wedding dress comfortably by the end of the week! The resort has shuttles that run from early morning into the evening, but between the beautiful weather and scenery we decided to walk everywhere.
We had been working with a wonderful off site wedding coordinator, Valeria, for the past year and a half, and when we arrived at the resort we had an on-site wedding team consisting of three ladies who took care of all of our needs for the week. We were able to have the traditional ceremony and dinner rehearsal the night before the wedding at El Cocotal, and the actual wedding day was more than we could have imagined. You see the pictures and read the information on the website, but you can never imagine how perfect it will turn out when you are actually living it in real time. Our ceremony site was exactly how we planned it out to be, and the cocktail hour and reception site was stunning. Our ceremony was at 5:00 p.m. and lasted 20 minutes at Gazebo 55, which is an alter all the way at the end of the resort, and also the most private. This time of day was perfect because the sun would be setting within two hours, so it was cool enough to sit outside. We had our cocktail hour and reception immediately following the ceremony, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the White Gazebo. We had tiki torches and bags with candles set up in the sand bordering the site and it gave it the perfect amount of light. Our DJ was excellent and did not miss a beat. He followed our requests and notes very well, including our special dances, cake cutting, and time for speeches. We opted for the BBQ buffet dinner to feed our guests at the reception and everyone said it was the best meal they had ever eaten at a wedding. Our reception lasted four hours, and the nice part about all of the bars on the resort is that the party didn't have to end there! At midnight we met up with all of our guests again at Guacamaya's for drinks and more dancing.
Of course, Vinny and I had an initial concern that certain people important to us would not be able to attend our wedding. Throughout the entire planning process we were disappointed many times by loved ones telling us they would not be able to attend. However, when it came down to it, we agreed that we had to refocus and realize we were doing this for us, and the most important thing was that we were making our own memories that we would be proud to look back on. Now that we are home, and settled in, we feel like it was all a dream. There is nothing we would have changed about our decision and would highly recommend taking this route to anyone getting married. We've already started planning our anniversary stay for next year! If there is one last piece of advice we can offer, it would be to spare no expense on your photography and videography. Your surrounding environment will speak for itself in your pictures. We went with Claudia Rodriguez Photography/Videography and couldn't be happier with our decision. Claudia and her team were very personable and very professional. Whatever other decisions you make for that day will be temporary, but the memories in your pictures and video will be with you forever. Enjoy every minute!

When we decided to have a destination wedding (our requirements were blue water, white sand, bare feet) and I was recommended by a family member to DestinationWeddings.com, I was a little hesitant. But it was a great decision. Debbie R. helped us find a fantastic location in the Azul Beach Hotel. The planners there were amazing, the planner in the U.S., Amanda, was so helpful and the resort was more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our guests all had an amazing time, and they all commented it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. It was the perfect day. I couldn't have asked for anything better. It was a great decision to use DestinationWeddings.com and their services. Thanks to everyone who made it the most memorable experience. Matt and I couldn't imagine a better setting or day.

Good Evening!
Coming from working almost 10 years in the hospitality industry (and being a general manager of a hotel for two of them) I know that hearing positive comments/reviews over the negative ones can sometimes be hard to come by, which brings me to the reason for this email.
I (along with my husband) wanted to express our deep gratitude to everyone who helped make our wedding (at the BEAUTIFUL Azul Beach Hotel & Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico on March 3, 2012) even more beautiful than we had ever wished for. From the very beginning (October 2010), I did not know where to even start with planning a destination wedding. After doing some research online for a while, I came across your website www.DestinationWeddings.com & decided to start there. I am VERY happy I did! Our Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, Janice was extremely helpful & knowledgeable from the very early stages of the destination wedding planning process and continues to impress us to this day with helping plan our "Anniversary/Honeymoon" return stay next March for my husband; our 4 year old daughter & I.
Also, our Wedding Coordinator Elizabeth (who works for Karisma Hotels & Resorts) was equally helpful & professional from the very beginning. Both Janice & Elizabeth had different roles; Janice was the person we went to with any & all travel questions & booking needs. Elizabeth was the one who we went to with any & all wedding ceremony/reception/welcoming party questions & planning needs. They both would work together to make sure everything was done correctly and made sure it was exactly what we wanted from start to finish. Even when we had a question or concern, they both would make sure it was taken care of...even if that wasn't one of their "normal job responsibilities".
This was much more than "our wedding" but also an once-in-a-lifetime vacation for our friends & family (most of whom have never even been on a vacation out of the country prior to this before). Having each one of them thank us (once we returned back to the states) for making this an easy & stress-free vacation, meant the world to both Josh & I! :)
I could probably write a book about what a pleasure & honor it was to have both of them (alongside the on-site wedding coordinators at Azul Beach Hotel; Janet & Angelica) as our wedding coordinators! I just wanted to make sure that they all know how forever grateful and appreciative Josh; our family; friends & I are for all of their hard work and dedication they showed us over the last (almost) two years! They will forever hold a special place in our hearts & were a blessing to have worked with! We look forward to returning to Azul Beach next spring to celebrate our 1 year anniversary/honeymoon! :) Thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts!
xoxo Brigitte & Joshua

Although we knew we’d have a destination wedding long before we were even engaged (after all, our wedding date was February 29, and it is way too cold in WI), we had no clue how to proceed. Also knowing that one can find almost anything online, I decided to search Google for destination weddings. I found DestinationWeddings.com and looked no further. That was a blessing as we could not have asked for better.
Despite the fact that our wedding was 13 months away, we had one month to get everything in place as I thought I was going to be deploying to Iraq, and I didn’t want to have any major strings untied. While my fiancé assured me that he and my mom could and would handle it, I am a bit of a control freak. And, I couldn’t turn things over to any of my siblings or friends as we weren’t sharing the fact we were engaged because we wanted to quietly elope. Well, elope with a twist as we brought along my parents, our pastor and best man.
What can I say? Donna O., Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, was fantastic. Though I ended up not deploying, the wedding was planned in one month thanks to her staying on top of things, guiding us through it all (to include the Feb 2011 tsunami wiping out our first resort), and relieving us of all stress. I, for one, never expected it to be so much fun. At no point were we ever frustrated, disappointed, or felt we were compromising.
After 13 months of planning, personally writing the ceremony, individually writing our vows and being very intimate on a daily basis with our upcoming wedding, I was blown away on February 29, 2012. It was beyond perfect and way cooler than I had dreamed it would be. WOW!
I have reminisced about that day pretty much every day since and have looked at our beautiful photographs nearly as often. Each and every time, it steals my breath away. Thank you, thank you Donna! Our wedding is an example and a testament to Donna’s professionalism and dedication to her clients (actually, I feel more like a friend than a client.) We are thrilled to be part of the DestinationWeddings.com family of happy brides and grooms. Keep up the AWESOME work!
And so, if we had just a few words to describe our experience with DestinationWeddings.com, we would say, “It was unbelievably fun, easy, and stress-free.”

Marcia,
Everything went great - it was nice and easy and after dealing with my sister's monster wedding coming up, I'm so happy we decided to run off. I will say that our cake (chocolate) was best wedding cake I've ever had! :) Everyone was raving about it. Also - my complimentary bouquet was equally as awesome.

Hi Marcia,
Let me say that the wedding, resort, service and all around setting far exceeded my expectations (and my guests)! It is a true attestation when everyone cannot wait to go back! I can't say enough good things about the Azul Sensatori- the staff was friendly and my wedding went off without any problems. They took care of everything and it looked just beautiful. Thank you for recommending this location to us. I could not have asked for a better experience.
Thanks again, Heather and Vincent

This is Dave and Sheila and we are from Milwaukee, WI. We had our wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica in December 2011.
The task of finding a location for our wedding was initially very daunting. We researched the Internet and asked friends and relatives about any experiences they had with destination weddings. This led us in many different directions, none of which looked promising with our budget. But alas, a friend that attended a family wedding in Punta Cana referred us to Lois with DestinationWeddings.com. We looked it up on the Internet and it sounded too good to be true. Lucky for us, it was everything we could have hoped for and more.
Once we got to Jamaica, we met with the wedding coordinator and worked out the final details before the big day. After that, we were truly able to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful weather, great food, and all you can drink beverages with our 85 friend and family members that made the trip. The actual wedding day went smoothly and was absolutely magnificent. We walked down the aisle on the beach and exchanged our vows with the ocean in the background.
Much thanks to Lois who took the utmost care in planning each and every one of our guest’s trip! Sheila and Dave

My name is Erin; I am from Texas. My husband’s name is Michael and he is from Alabama. Since our families were so far apart and we knew someone would have to travel, we decided on a destination wedding so that we would all travel to one fabulous place! I saw DestinationWeddings.com in one of my brides’ magazines and calling them was the best thing I ever did.
Unless you travel out of the country to that location where you are positive you want to get married, you are like most of us who have no clue where to start! DW asked me what general area I was interested in (beach, winery, country, etc.) and set me up with a specialist who had expertise in that area. She was quick to answer my questions, made suggestions that were helpful and was VERY organized (which a detail oriented bride could really appreciate!) Anytime I thought of something random or Michael asked me something I didn't even think to ask, I would send her a quick email and she would respond with understanding and very informative answers. She booked our rooms, flights, and made sure we knew about all the deals we could benefit from but was never pushy.
We had a few resorts to compare and Michael and I picked out the one we thought was best for us and our guests, the Azul Sensatori in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I always read in my magazines that you should visit the resort at least once before signing up to have your wedding there. With my DW agent there was a sense of trust. She had been there herself several times and told me how beautiful it was and how many options they offered for a wedding. Michael and I chose not to visit the resort ahead of time and have the surprise of it be part of the experience! Once it came time to have guests sign up to join us they constantly told me how easy it was to take care of everything online and how helpful our specialist was. She was outstanding!
After we chose the resort, I was directed to a wedding coordinator. She helped me with every detail you can imagine, from the flowers I carried to the hair and makeup appointments to the reception. They covered EVERYTHING I could want. I cannot say how helpful this was for me. I was not overwhelmed; it was almost like online shopping! Here are your choices for this area, which do you prefer? It was so simple to sit down with Michael and pick out our decorations, food, photographer, music. They made it a very enjoyable experience and I would never do it any other way!
I feel like I could go on forever (which I have) and still not express how amazing our wedding in Mexico was. It exceeded our expectations; we have the best memories of the entire week. Everything was perfect and beautiful and most important SO MUCH FUN!! As I said before, I would never take back the decision to do a destination wedding; I would recommend it to anyone that may be considering it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you DestinationWeddings.com, Azul Sensatori, Rene and Amanda for making Michael and my wedding experience an absolute dream come true!

We were married at the beautiful Gran Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. We had 36 guest attend our wedding, all of which were traveling from different parts of Canada. Our travel/destination wedding specialist, Judy, did an amazing job assisting all of our guests and making sure that everything went as smoothly as possible.
The journey of searching for the perfect resort was overwhelming at times. Friends of ours (who happened to be world travelers that attended 7 destination weddings, including their own) recommended the Gran Bahia Principe to us. I quote "Out of all of the destination wedding resorts we have been to, this one by far blows everything out of the water, and we would love to return someday!" Needless to say, we took their advice and went for it. Then the wonderful Judy took care of us from there. She helped with choosing the best times and dates, affordable rates and flights for all of our guests.
Over the time spent talking to Judy via phone or through email, I really felt connected to her. She was very professional, friendly and personable. In the end I wished she could have attended our wedding. Luckily for us, she had taken a vacation of her own to Jamaica and went out of her travels to visit the Gran Bahia Principe just weeks before our departure. Judy went above and beyond our expectations of a Destination Wedding Specialist. She provided us with first hand experiences, recommendations and photos of what to look forward to. All of which were greatly appreciated.
A very special THANK YOU to Judy for all her help in making our wedding day an absolute dream! I highly recommend DestinationWeddings.com/Judy Currie Jordan, Certified Destination Wedding Specialist, to any bride and groom without reservation! All the best to you who are reading these testimonials and considering a destination for your wedding, it is TOTALLY the way to go! ;)

I am writing to tell you what a great experience we had with DestinationWeddings.com and Amarjit Keshav. My husband, Jim, and I started this process a year ago and we were introduced to Amarjit. For an entire year, Amarjit helped us with any and all questions we had. She was amazing! Jim and I got married at Dreams Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on November 19, 2011. The resort was amazing and we would recommend it to any couple planning a wedding. The staff was wonderful and made us and our guests feel like we were the only people at the resort. I would recommend DestinationWeddings.com to anyone who is having a destination wedding. Not only is your planner knowledgeable with resorts and procedures, they take care of all your and your guests’ travel arrangements! Our planner, Amarjit, helped with a few problems we had with the resort. We had a problem with our first wedding planner at the resort. I emailed Amarjit to let her know the problems we were having and she sent the manager an email and within an hour, the manager emailed us back and we had a different planner at the resort. Amarjit was awesome! Jennifer and Jim Ray

Hi Kathy,
I just wanted to tell you how amazing our wedding was and thank you for all your help! I'm so happy that we chose to work with you and that I didn't have to deal with the stress of worrying about my guests' travel arrangements. Nicole & the Iberostar team also did an excellent job with everything & I can honestly say that I wouldn't have changed any part of it!
The Iberostar was wonderful - but I already knew that. It was great to hear from our guests about how much they loved the resort. Those that stayed a week were happy they did, and those that only stayed 3 nights all wished they could have stayed longer! =) Thank you for recommending such a great resort! The honeymoon was equally amazing! The hotel was excellent (and in some ways even better than the Iberostar!).
Tom and I got upgraded at each of the three hotels we stayed at. (I, of course, asked for an upgrade at each hotel, but I'm sure your influence was what did it!) We didn't have any problems with check-in and the travel was as smooth as it could be.
Thank you again so much for your hard work. I would be happy to serve as a reference for any future clients you might have.

Clint and I are from Alabama and we wanted a small wedding somewhere we both had never been. I was browsing on the Internet one night and came across the website DestinationWeddings.com. I checked it out and it seemed legit so I signed up. It wasn't long before Mrs. Jane Rutledge e-mailed me introducing herself and giving me her information. She worked with our budget and plans to find us the perfect spot for our small, intimate wedding.
We chose Jamaica originally for the Ocho Rios waterfall location, but changed our minds and went to an all-inclusive resort that was brand new (actually wasn't even opened when we booked our room, it opened two months later). We stayed at the Wild Orchid Secrets Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Let me just say, it was wonderful!!!
We succeeded in having our small wedding, there were just four of us there and we couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect wedding. Mrs. Rutledge made sure everything was taken care before we left and the resort staff was top notch when we got there. We look forward to going back one day soon.
Our actual wedding was short, sweet, romantic and beautiful! Our photographer, Dewayne, was the BEST! He even got down on rock and got us a live starfish to take a photo with! Our wedding cake was one of the best cakes I had ever had in my life! I had my hair and makeup done at the spa and both turned our better than I imagined! All I can say is that we had a wonderful, wonderful time.
If you are looking for a great experience and a destination wedding, get in touch with a destination wedding specialist and let them do the rest. It was the most stress-free experience ever! I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.
We will always remember our Jamaica wedding on 11/11/11 at 11 AM. :-)
Thank you DestinationWeddings.com and Jane Rutledge for making our wedding dreams come true!

My name is Helena from California, and I got engaged to Daniel from Sweden on New Years of 2011. After the engagement we started thinking of what we both really wanted in a wedding. We started weighing what was really important to us, which was the date we chose and a beach location. We wanted to pick a place that was close to the same distance for both families to travel, and get married on the luckiest day of the year; 11.11.11! I was so overwhelmed in where to start in finding a good destination, with very specific qualities. Then one of my bridesmaids told me about a wedding she attended that DestinationWeddings.com did, and how amazing and smooth it went. So I e-mailed, and quickly had a response. They did all the leg work for me, and we went worry free to Aruba! It was nice planning a wedding from the comfort of my home, knowing that I had a very knowledgeable and experienced person by my side helping me along the way!
The wedding was a dream, and all 50 family members that attended were very, very happy! I hear so many stories of friends that were so stressed out before their weddings, all saying the words "I can’t wait til it’s all over". An engagement and planning a wedding should be fun and something to enjoy and look forward to, and not be stressed out over. When leaving for our wedding, I was so stress-free and excited to take a relaxing vacation with all my family. My coordinator was Sandy, and I couldn't be more pleased with everything she did for me! I came back glowing and so pleased with all my arrangements... I couldn't imagine doing anything differently.
Thank you Sandy! You were amazing!
